To make a hemp necklace, the first requirement is the hemp twine.  It is available in various colors, but still people love to select the natural tan color.  Select few beads and charms to improve the look of the necklace.  Most of the jewelry is made from 20lb or 1 mm twine.  If the thickness is more then the effect will be better, but the thickness should be even.  After finishing the necklace attach a metal clasp or metal flas with coil, which in turn would help you to wear it around the neck. 

The Fundamental Two Knots

It is important to learn two basic knots.  Take four hemp twines, two will be the base and the remaining two will be used to make the knots, so it should be little longer than the base hemp.  If you are going to use more beads then the requirement of the hemp will be less, because you are going to make few knots.

Take the strands in this way, two in the center and two in the corner.  Fold the right hand side strand and keep it over the center two strands.  Take it under the left-hand side strand.  Now take the left side strand under the center base strand. Take it up and over the right side strand.  Tighten the knot.

For the next knot, fold the left strand over the center strands, then under the right strand.  Now for the next step, take the right strand under the base center strands. Then take it over the left strand. As usual tighten the knot. 
These are the two simplest knots for all the hemp jewelry. 

How to make Hemp Necklaces – adding Beads

Addition of beads in the hemp necklace is a simple work, but beautiful to look.  Use the center two strands to thread the beads and put the knot around the beads.  Make sure the hole on the beads is not so small to thread it.  Otherwise your work will be tougher.  When you are adding beads put 5 knots and add the beads, continuing this to render a remarkable look to your necklace.  Use the same color bead or rainbow colored beads to beautify your necklace.  

The Final Touch

After adding enough knots and beads to your necklace, twist the remaining hemp together.  This is the simplest and easiest way to finish. 
The next method is to take metal clasp or wire-cord and connect it with the end of the piece.  Bend the metal flaps over the cord and the other has a coil, you can crimp around the cord from the bottom.
